Niamh qualified as a physiotherapist in 2009 with a BSc (Hons) from Manchester Metropolitan University. During her studies she was awarded the MMU 2nd year sports physiotherapy prize providing her an opportunity to observe and assist physiotherapists at Gloucester RFC. After studying, she spent time in a research role in University College Dublin, gaining knowledge and skills in robust research methods in both clinical and sport settings.
Since qualifying Niamh has gained significant experience working in NHS hospitals as well as pursuing additional experience in sports physiotherapy. She worked with Tabard Rugby Football Club over several seasons and previously held the role of Lead Physiotherapist for Mavericks Youth Netball Squad. She has worked with track and field athletes at the British University and Colleges Outdoor Championships. While continuing her work Niamh is also undertaking an MSc in sports physiotherapy with the University of Bath.
Niamh enjoys treating patients with a variety of injuries – both acute or chronic -and working toward individual goals using a holistic approach. Niamh is passionate about individualised, functional rehab for all levels of ability as well as injury prevention. She has additional training in Pilates for Runners and Pilates for children and young adults.
Niamh has a background in competitive athletics – sprinting as a youth – and now enjoys running, yoga, Pilates and swimming. She lives in North London with her husband and young son.
