Tom Phillips is a Sports and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist at our Hatfield clinic. Alongside his work at Bodybalance, Tom also works with Bishops Stortford RFC and is undertaking a Masters in Sports Medicine, Exercise and Health to further his knowledge in sports injury prevention and management.
Tom first became interested in the treatment of sports injuries as a result of his own injuries from tennis as an adolescent. His interest were further developed whilst he studied BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Sciences at University of Leeds, leading him to go on to also do a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy at University of Hertfordshire.
Since graduating from his physiotherapy degree, Tom has worked within the NHS and in semi-professional and academy level rugby. At Bodybalance he continues to work with a wide variety of elite sports including netball and University of Hertfordshire scholarship athletes.
Tom’s combined knowledge from his multiple degrees has created an active approach to the rehabilitation and management of injuries. He particularly enjoys working with sports injuries across the spectrum; from recreational to elite level.
Tom looks to treat both the presenting condition and to address the underlying causes. He utilises skills including manual therapy, soft tissue massage, taping and acupuncture to ensure the best outcomes possible. Tom also has a strong interest in injury prevention and educates his clients to minimise their risk of re-injury.
Outside of work, Tom enjoys playing tennis, going to the gym, watching sport and socialising with friends.
