Biomechanics

Biomechanics is the application of the laws of mechanics and physics to human movement and performance. Our understanding of biomechanics enables us to better assess performance and movement patterns so as to improve efficiency, address abnormal movement patterns which may be a result of past injury, and help to reduce the risk of injuries in the future.

Biomechanics can be altered by flexibility, strength, control and re-training good patterns of movement. Biomechanics can also be altered by external forces, such as footwear or orthotics.
